FIFA has canceled this year 2020’s edition of ‘the best’, saying the trophy remains with no winner this year due to COVID-19 crisis

FIFA The Best awards for 2020 have been canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus crisis as Lionel Messi and Megan Rapinoe will remain reigning champions in the men and women’s categories according to the tweet.

However, in a statement by the Spanish news media outlet Marca, the world football organisation governing the body states made the decision in canceling awards ceremony owing to health concerns.

Nevertheless, Barcelona’s Messi who won the 2019 edition beating Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk and Juventus Cristiano Ronaldo.

However Ronaldo still holds the most record for FIFA The Best award wins with two while the other two editions have been won by Luka Modric and Messi.
