A German superstar football midfielder, Andre Schurrle has publicly announced his football career retirement at the age of 29.
Andre Schurrle was a former Chelsea star, has admitted to struggling with the game of football which he described as a place ‘where vulnerability and weakness must never exist’.
Andre Schurrle announced the end to his football career as he admitted that he personally struggled as a player as it began to take its toll on him.
“The decision has matured in me for a long time,” said Schurrle.
“Only performance on the field counts, in which vulnerability and weakness must never exist’ he added, hinting of the strains that life in the spotlight can bring to an individual who is constantly expected to perform.”
Although, Andre Schurrel was also among the strong players that helped Chelsea won English premier league at the 2014/15 season. Although he did well to admit that a game of football is not ‘where vulnerability and weakness must never exist’.
