The actress, Hilda Dakubo, took to social media via her Instagram page to react after she discovered that Senator Elisha Abbo was listed as one of the patrons of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
However, the star shared a passionate video on her page where she reminded Nigerians of how the senator was seen raining slaps on a helpless woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja and how he only addressed the issue after it caused an outcry on social media.
Dakubo said Abbo only mimed an apology because no one every truly apologises while reading from a piece of paper. Concluding the post, the actress called for the senator to be removed as a patron of AGN because he tarnishes what they represent. In the caption of her post she wrote:
“An abuser of women as Patron of Actors Guild of Nigeria is an unpardonable abuse of the rights of all the females in the creative space especially #actors. We must stop every attempt at rubbishing our values as a people with such appointments in whatever guise. Consequently, Senator Abbo #sextoysenator must be delisted from our list of Patrons now.”
It has been said that the evil one does lives after them. Well, that seems to be the case with Nigerian senator, Elisha Abbo, who was involved in an abuse scandal after he was caught beating up a woman at an adult toy shop in Abuja.
Even though the senator appeared teary-eyed and apologised to Nigerians after the issue became a topic of discussion on social media, the senator still has to live with the stink of what he did for a very long time, perhaps forever.
