Call for jubilation as Eritrea declared coronavirus free

Call for jubilation as the government of the East African country of Eritrea has declared it as coronavirus-free.

However Africanews reports, that Eritrea made the official pronouncement after all the country’s 39 confirmed cases successfully recovered from the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the report, Eritrea’s health ministry said the last coronavirus patient was discharged from the hospital on Friday, May 15.

The East African country joins the likes of Mauritania and Mauritius that recorded full recoveries. Like Madagascar, Central Africa Republic, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, Lesotho, Rwanda and Uganda, Eritrea also recorded no coronavirus deaths.
