The year 2020 is only a few months gone, but a lot has happened that has already rocked the Nigerian social media space.
However, on March 9, 2020, it happens that the Emir of Kano, Lamido Sanusi II, has been dethroned from his position by the Kano state government.
Sanusi’s dethronement came after the state’s council executive meeting presided over by the governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has reacted to Sanusi’s removal as the emir of Kano. The rapper mocked the former monarch as he spoke on how a corrupt governor who was reportedly caught on camera stuffing dollars into his babariga was able to dethrone him.
Speaking further, Eedris said that Sanusi’s dethronement is a price he had to pay for championing the cause that the former president of the country, Goodluck Jonathan, was running a corrupt government. Eedris wrote:
“Dear Sanusi Lamido, a corrupt man caught stuffing dollars into his babariga removed you from office!
It’s an unfortunate situation but this is the price you have to pay for championing the Jonathan is Corrupt cause with no evidence but propaganda.
Today, you are witnessing the real corruption! Goodluck! May Ubeku.” See his post below:
