The Nigeria government was making decision to cancel 2020 WASSCE examination as the result of the coronavirus pandemic.
But nevertheless, The House of Representatives has urged the federal government to rescind its decision on the cancellation of the 2020 West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) exams due to Covid-19 pandemic.
However, one of the top presidential aide Tolu Ogunlesi, disclosed this to the public via a t his Twitter account, also said the education minister attributed the decision to the spike in Covid-19 cases nationwide.
“The negative and culminating effects of the government‘s action in seeking to withdraw Nigerian students from the examinations will be devastating on our educational system and Nigeria’s economy at large,” the lawmakers argued.
Perhaps, one of the legal practitioner Afe Babalola has also argued FG to withdraw on its WASSCE cancellation decision; saying that the withdrawal of Nigeria from the external examination will endanger the future of over one million students who have registered.
